Rail Freight FAQs

What Factors Affect Rail Freight Prices and Costs?

  • Distance and route complexity: Transportation costs typically increase due to long-distance shipping combined with complex routing, especially when shipping multiple times through different borders.
  • Load type (FCL/LCL): Through the FCL shipping mode, large-volume shipments receive superior rate efficiency per unit compared to the LCL shipping mode.
  • Cargo handling needs: The handling of various cargo items requires specialized equipment, along with focused service supervision, to meet specific requirements.
  • Container demand: Market rates are influenced by container demand, seasonal trends, and current supply in the container market sector.
  • Additional services: Additional services require a separate pricing scheme that includes customs handling, storage facilities, and complete door-to-door delivery services.

Can I Ship Dangerous Goods by Rail?

Yes, we offer specialized rail services for shipping dangerous goods. However, please note that the shipping of dangerous goods requires additional documentation and compliance with strict regulations. Our team will guide you through the process, ensuring your cargo is transported safely and legally.

Can I Ship One Single 20feet container?

No, Rail freight FCL doesn't like ocean freight, it only can ship dual number of 20feet containers, can not ship odd number of 20feet containers. But 40feet container is allowed, no matter odd or dual.

For example, you can ship 2*20feet, 4*20feet, 6*20feet, etc. But you can not ship 1*20feet, 3*20feet, 5*20feet, etc.

If you need to ship one single 20feet container by rail, you can choose our LCL service for cargo around 20-30CBM.

If I Ship Multiple Containers in One Order, Can They Be Cleared Customs in One Bill?

No, for FCL rail transport, each container is required to have its own corresponding bill of lading, commercial invoice, and packing list. So even if multiple containers are shipped at the same time, each container must go through customs clearance separately and cannot be cleared together under a single set of documents for multiple containers
